China's State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang and his Honduran counterpart Eduardo Reina signed a joint communique in Beijing on Sunday to formally establish diplomatic ties between their two countries.

In a statement on Twitter, the Honduran Foreign Ministry said it recognizes the existence of one China in the world,

and the government of the People's Republic of China represents China as a whole.
中华人民共和国政府是代表中国的唯一合法政府。
The central American country has also cut "diplomatic tie" with Taiwan and promised not to conduct further official dealings with the island.
这个中美洲国家还与台湾断绝了所谓的“外交关系”，并承诺不再与台湾进行任何官方往来。
China's Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Beijing appreciates Hondura's attitude.
中国外交部在一份声明中表示，中方对此表示高度赞赏。
"The one-China principle is the general consensus of the international community and the basic norms of international relations, recognized by UN General Assembly Resolution No. 2758 of 1971.

The foreign minister of Honduras says this is an historic moment for the two countries, which opens a new era of benefitting people.

"Honduras is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in areas such as finance, trade, infrastructure, science and technology, culture and tourism,

and to closely communicate and coordinate under multilateral frameworks."
密切在多边框架下沟通协调。”
The two countries say they will appoint ambassadors as soon as possible, and all necessary assistance will be provided to establish embassies.
两国均表示，将尽早互派大使，并将为建立大使馆提供一切必要的协助。
