"A fine day, your Majesty!" the Duchess began in a low, weak voice.
“天气挺好，陛下！”公爵夫人声音又小又细。
"Now, I give you fair warning," shouted the Queen, stamping on the ground as she spoke; "either you or your head must be off, and that in about half no time! Take your choice!"
“现在，我警告你，”王后咆哮着，她边喊边跺着脚，“要么是你，要么是你的头给我滚开，马上！你挑吧！”
The Duchess took her choice, and was gone in a moment.
公爵夫人做出了选择，立刻走开了。
"Let's go on with the game," the Queen said to Alice; and Alice was too much frightened to say a word, but slowly followed her back to the croquet-ground.
“咱们回去继续比赛。”王后对爱丽丝说，爱丽丝吓得说不出话来，只是慢慢跟着她走回了槌球场。
The other guests had taken advantage of the Queen's absence, and were resting in the shade: however, the moment they saw her, they hurried back to the game, the Queen merely remarking that a moment's delay would cost them their lives.
其他客人趁着王后不在，都到阴凉处休息去了。不过一看见王后，就连忙回去比赛，王后仅仅说了一句，耽误一分钟就要他们的命。
All the time they were playing the Queen never left off quarrelling with the other players, and shouting "Off with his head!" or "Off with her head!"
比赛过程中王后一刻不停地和他人争吵，大叫着“砍了他的头！”或是“砍了她的头！”
Those whom she sentenced were taken into custody by the soldiers, who of course had to leave off being arches to do this, so that by the end of half an hour or so there were no arches left, and all the players, except the King, the Queen, and Alice, were in custody and under sentence of execution.
那些判了死刑的人都被士兵扣押起来，这些士兵就当不成球门了，所以约摸过了半个小时之后就一个球门都不剩了，而除了国王、王后和爱丽丝之外，所有的球员全都被判了死刑扣押起来。
Then the Queen left off, quite out of breath, and said to Alice, "Have you seen the Mock Turtle yet?"
这时，王后上气不接下气地停下来，对爱丽丝说：“你看见假海龟没有？”
"No," said Alice. "I don't even know what a Mock Turtle is."
“没有，”爱丽丝说，“我连什么是假海龟都不知道。”
"It's the thing Mock Turtle Soup is made from," said the Queen.
“就是用来做假海龟汤的那种东西。”王后说。
"I never saw one, or heard of one," said Alice.
“我从来没见过也没听说过。”爱丽丝说。
"Come on, then," said the Queen, "and he shall tell you his history,"
“那么，来吧，”王后说，“他会给你讲自己的故事的。”
As they walked off together, Alice heard the King say in a low voice, to the company generally, "You are all pardoned." "Come, that's a good thing!" she said to herself, for she had felt quite unhappy at the number of executions the Queen had ordered.
当她们一同走开的时候，爱丽丝听到国王小声对大伙儿说，“你们全都被赦免了。” “嗯，那可是好事！”她自言自语着，因为王后下令处死那么多人她心里也不好受。
They very soon came upon a Gryphon, lying fast asleep in the sun. "Up, lazy thing!" said the Queen, "and take this young lady to see the Mock Turtle, and to hear his history. I must go back and see after some executions I have ordered;" and she walked off, leaving Alice alone with the Gryphon.
不久她们遇到了一只狮身鹰面兽，正躺在阳光里酣睡呢。“起来，懒蛋！”王后说，“带这位小姐去见假海龟，听他讲故事。我得回去看看我的死刑令的执行情况。”说罢她走了，留下爱丽丝独自和狮身鹰待在一起。
Alice did not quite like the look of the creature, but on the whole she thought it would be quite as safe to stay with it as to go after that savage Queen: so she waited.
爱丽丝可不怎么喜欢这个家伙的长相，不过总的说来，她觉得跟它待在一起要比跟那个狠心的王后一起走更安全些，所以她就留下来等着。
The Gryphon sat up and rubbed its eyes: then it watched the Queen till she was out of sight: then it chuckled. "What fun!" said the Gryphon, half to itself, half to Alice.
狮身鹰坐起来，揉了揉眼睛，看着王后没了踪影，它咯咯地笑起来。“多可笑！”狮身鹰说，半是冲着自己，半是冲着爱丽丝。
"What is the fun?" said Alice.
“谁可笑？”爱丽丝问。
"Why, she," said the Gryphon. "It's all her fancy, that: they never executes nobody, you know. Come on!"
“怎么，她呗，”狮身鹰说，“这全是她想象的！事实上，你知道，他们从来没处死过什么人。来吧！”
"Everybody says ‘come on!' here," thought Alice, as she went slowly after it: "I never was so ordered about in all my life, never!"
“这儿人人都说‘来吧！’”爱丽丝边慢慢跟着它走边想，“长这么大我也没让人这么支使过，从来没有过！”
They had not gone far before they saw the Mock Turtle in the distance, sitting sad and lonely on a little ledge of rock, and, as they came nearer, Alice could hear him sighing as if his heart would break. She pitied him deeply.
走了没多远，他们就看见了远处的那只假海龟，他正独自伤心地坐在一块儿不大的岩石边上，而且，随着他们走近，爱丽丝都能听见他在叹气，好像他的心都要碎了。她真是太同情他了。
"What is his sorrow?" she asked the Gryphon, and the Gryphon answered, very nearly in the same words as before, "It's all his fancy, that: he hasn't got no sorrow, you know. Come on!"
“什么事让他这么伤心？”她问狮身鹰，那狮身鹰回答得连字句都和先前的差不多，“这全是他的想象，事实上，你知道，他根本就没有什么伤心事。来吧！”
So they went up to the Mock Turtle, who looked at them with large eyes full of tears, but said nothing.
于是他们走到假海龟跟前，他用一双充满泪水的大眼睛望着他们，但是并没有说话。
