With cleansers, as with a lot of things in life, to get the best you have to do it yourself! Sally Hornsey, cosmetic consultant at Plush Folly, shows you how to make an amazing grapefruit cleanser, perfect for oily skin.
You Will Need
peach kernel oil
castor oil
witch hazel water
sucragel
2 heatproof beakers
emulsifying wax
preservative
grapefruit essential oil
Method
Measure 60 g of witch hazel water in a beaker, then add 5 g of sucragel. Heat this beaker up gently.
In the second beaker measure 20 g of peach kernel oil, 15 g of castor oil and 20 g of emulsifying wax. Heat the beaker on a low heat.
Once the waxes have melted, remove both beakers from the heat and mix them together, then stir the mixture for 2 minutes so it does not separate.
Leave aside for 5 minutes to cool.
Add 15 drops of preservative, and 12 drops of grapefruit essential oil. Mix thoroughly, then pour into a bottle.
