醉酒

One day, a father and his little son were going home. At this age, the boy was interested in all kinds of things and was always asking questions.

一天，父亲与小儿子一道回家。这个孩子正处于那种对什么事都很感兴趣的年龄，老是有提不完的问题。

Now, he asked, "What's the meaning of the word 'Drunk', dad?"

他向父亲发问道：“爸爸，‘醉’字是什么意思？”

"Well, my son," his father replied , "look, there are standing two policemen. If I regard the two policemenasfour then I am drunk."

“唔，孩子，”父亲回答说，“你瞧那儿站着两个警察。如果我把他们看成了四个，那么我就算醉了。”

"But, dad," the boy said, " there's only ONE policeman!"

“可是，爸爸，”孩子说，“那儿只有一个警察呀！”

1.all kinds of things

kind of后接单数和复数名词都对。如：This kind of book=this kind of books

其后的谓语动词的单复数要根据kind of，如果Kind不加s，其谓语动词就用第三人称单数。

All kinds of后接名词复数，其后谓语动词接复数。

辨析一下三种回复：reply，answer，respond

answer“回答”、“答复”，可指口头或书面。

reply“回答”、“答复”，正式用语，可指口头或书面，有经过考虑后较为正式地作出回答的含义。

respond“回答”、“答复”，可指口头或书面做出回答，或以具体动作表示答复。

3.I regard the two policemen as four

regard...as的意思是把…认作；当做；看成；看做

regard+sb/sth+as+名词

eg：Regard each failure as a stimulus to further efforts.把每次失利看成对进一步努力的激励。
