Matchmaker, matchmaker, find me a match!
Dialogue:
Dan: Charlie, do you know anyone that might be good for me?
Charlie: Hmmm, let me think. Actually, I do know somebody. You guys would definitely make a good match.
Dan: Great! Maybe you can try to figure out a way for us to meet.
Charlie: You want me to play the matchmaker, don’t you?
Dan: If you don’t mind.
Charlie: I’ll see what I can do.
Phrase:
Make a good match: 很匹配的一对
e.g. My mom and dad make a good match because they both love to do the same things.
I’ll see what I can do: 我来想想办法，试试看
A: Can you try to have these dishes washed by the time I get home?
B: I’m pretty busy, but I’ll see what I can do.
Tip:That’s great! 真的是很棒！
great和good 一样表示好、棒，但是程度比good更深一些。
- I’ve got an A in that course.
- “ That’s good.” (对一般朋友的用法)
- I’ve got an A in that course.
- “ That’s great.” （对好朋友的用法）
- Hi. How are you?
- I’m good.(心情一般时的回答)
- Hi. How are you?
- I’m great.(心情很好时的回答)
Notice: I’m great有时候是反话哦！
