“Min” is the brief name of Fujian, and “Ba Min” has a profound historical trace.
“闽”是福建的简称，“八闽”有着深刻历史渊源。
It was a geographical concept back to the Yuan Dynasty, consisting of eight prefectures, namely Fuzhou, Jianning, Xinghua,Yanping, Tingzhou, Shaowu, Quanzhou and Zhangzhou.
它是元代的一个地理概念，由八路组成，即福州，建宁，兴化，延平，汀州，邵武，泉州，漳州。

“湘”是湖南官方简称，“三湘”则是湖南省内的三个郡和四条河流的统称。
During the Waring State period, the land was divided into three prefectures, namely Dongting, Qianzhong and Cangwu.

“Ba Gui” literally means many laurel trees， and a geographical feature of Guilin City in Guangxi.
“八桂”的字面意思是许多月桂树，是当地的一个地理特征。
According to ancient poems and local geographic accounts, “Ba Gui” later referred to the whole autonomous region.
