Very good question. The answer is because he now likes TikTok. He says that he is a fan of the app.

Good question. The actual origin of the ban stretches right the way back to about 2019, when Donald Trump was last in power as US president.

So he was the president and then Joe Biden came in, and Joe Biden decided to keep the idea of the ban on TikTok after Donald Trump raised it as a possible thing they should do for national security reasons.

I think probably, yes. I've been speaking to some experts who say that in these kind of situations where a big, powerful and influential country like the US decides that an app or a tech company is bad, quite often the rest of the world follows, particularly the Western world.
