How do you get over impostor syndrome?
If you struggle with self-doubt and feel like you are a fraud and you don't belong, you're not alone.
About 70% of people experience impostor syndrome at some point in their lives.
There are a lot of reasons why people experience this, but I want to focus on something that people usually don't talk about.
It's easy to feel like an impostor if you're in an environment where you feel like you don't belong, where there aren't a lot of people who have had similar life experiences as you and you don't see yourself reflected in the leadership of the organization you're in.
To really tackle impostor syndrome we need to look beyond the individual to the larger environment therein and make these spaces more welcoming for all types of people.
Now I know it's hard for one person to change an entire organization.

And I put a lot more trust and faith in someone that is reflective and wondering if they're doing the right thing than someone who is overconfident and arrogant about their skills and expertise.
You are not a fraud for having these worries, this makes you someone who's open to learning and growing and improving.
