Hi everyone, I'm Stephanie from Wilton,

That's right, it's New Year's, and that means one thing, there's gonna be champagne.

And the only thing better than champagne is combining that with some cookies.

And that's exactly what we're gonna do today.

We are gonna make some champagne meringue cookies.

Meringues are so popular right now.

We're seeing them everywhere.

We're even seeing 'em on Wilton's 2016 trend list in the form of Airy Pavlovas.

Now, meringue can be a little intimidating if you've never made it before,

but Wilton has a top secret that's actually not so secret,

'cause you can buy it at any craft store, in the form of meringue powder.

Now, these are powdered egg whites.

Now, it's primarily used to make royal icing,

but you can actually use it in tons of recipes like the one we're gonna make today.

We're gonna start by combining a fourth of a cup of meringue powder with a half a cup ofwater.

We're gonna mix this with the whisk attachment until it starts to form soft peaks.

That's where the peak still kind of flops over.

We're gonna continue to whip it while we add 1 1/3 cup of sugar and five drops of our Treatology flavor Crisp Champagne.

And we're gonna continue to whip it until it starts to form stiff peaks

which is where the peak stands up straight and doesn't fall over.

Now that our meringue is done, we're gonna put it in a 16-inch decorating bag prepared with a tip 1M.

The great thing about the 16-inch decorating bag is that it's so big,

you don't have to constantly refill it.

Now, we're gonna pipe 1M swirls on a cookie sheet prepared with parchment paper.

We want them about two inches in diameter.

Now, I don't know what you guys are doing this New Year's,

Now that my meringues are all piped,

I'm gonna put 'em in the oven at 250 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes.
