The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization on December 4, 2024 inscribed Spring Festival, social practices of the Chinese people in celebration of the traditional new year, on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
2024年12月4日，“春节——中国人庆祝传统新年的社会实践”列入联合国教科文组织人类非物质文化遗产代表作名录。
It is necessary to make solid efforts in advancing the systematic protection of intangible cultural heritage to better meet people's ever-growing intellectual and cultural needs as well as building cultural confidence and strength. It is essential to promote the creative transformation and development of the best of traditional Chinese culture, enhance the cohesion of the Chinese nation and the appeal of Chinese culture, deepen exchanges and mutual learning with other civilizations, better tell the stories of China's fine traditional culture and better present Chinese culture to the world.
要扎实做好非物质文化遗产的系统性保护，更好满足人民日益增长的精神文化需求，推进文化自信自强。要推动中华优秀传统文化创造性转化、创新性发展，不断增强中华民族凝聚力和中华文化影响力，深化文明交流互鉴，讲好中华优秀传统文化故事，推动中华文化更好走向世界。
