A robotic dog that would be deployed to deliver heavy loads including garbage is in a test run at the Taishan Mountain scenic area in Tai'an, East China's Shandong province.

The dog serves as a "porter" on Taishan Mountain, transporting goods uphill and reducing the need for human labor.

In 2023, Taishan Mountain scenic area saw a record 8.62 million visitors, producing almost 24,000 tons of waste annually, leading to increased difficulties and costs in garbage cleaning and transportation.
2023年，泰山景区接待游客达到创纪录的862万人次，每年产生的垃圾近2.4万吨，导致垃圾清理和运输的难度和成本增加。
Due to the complex terrain of Taishan Mountain scenic area and the presence of only hiking trails, large-scale mechanized operations are not feasible, leading to manual garbage collection. During peak visitor hours, when hikers occupy all trails, trash is temporarily stored on the sides until a later concerted effort for collection, a long-standing challenge for the park.
长期以来，由于泰山景区地形复杂，且均为登山盘道，无法实现大规模机械化作业，清扫垃圾只能通过人工挑运。客流高峰时段，上下山游客占用了全部盘道，只能将垃圾暂存盘道两侧，待游客减少时再进行突击集中清运，这已经成为困扰景区多年的老问题。
Robotic dogs are introduced for waste collection tests at Taishan Mountain scenic area to improve transportation efficiency based on the latest technology and advanced practices from other locations.
“我们结合目前科技发展的最新成果，借鉴外地景区的先进经验，最终选定引进机器狗在泰山景区开展垃圾清运测试，以此提高景区货物、垃圾运输效率。”
The robotic dogs participating in the test are among the fastest and most advanced industrial-grade quadruped robots on the market. They boast strong obstacle-crossing capabilities, outstanding stability and balance, excellent load-bearing and endurance capacities, among other performance advantages.
参加测试的机器狗是目前市场上奔跑速度最快、技术最为先进的工业级四足机器人之一，具有翻越障碍能力强、稳定性和平衡能力突出、负重能力和续航能力出色等性能优势。
