By the side of a giant rock, Liu Fei proposed to his girlfriend Wang Fangfang with a knee on the ground. Wang said "yes" and the couple hugged each other with the blessings of on lookers.
The scene happened in a plaza in Urumqi, capital city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on March 14. The rock weighs 33 tons, and was said to be a meteorite bought by Liu Fei with over a million yuan.
Liu Fei and Wang Fangfang has been in a relationship for four years. Last year, when they traveled to Kashgar, a friend of Liu told him that a native person collector owns a huge "meteorite."
Liu and Wang visited the collector and Liu liked the "meteorite" a lot.
Liu asked Wang if she liked the rock, she said "yes". So he decided to buy the "meteorite" and propose to her with it.
After multiple times of communication with the collector, Liu finally bought the "meteorite" with over one million yuan, the money he originally planned to buy an apartment.
The "meteorite" was transported to the plaza in Urumqi in the evening of March 12, covered with a patch of red cloth.
"This means our love will last firm and long", said Liu. "And I chose to propose to her at 13:14, which means I'll love her for all my life." (The number combination 1314 in Chinese pronounces like "all one's life", thus was used often between lovers for lifetime commitment.)
