A toddler whose stomach was so bloated she could not eat or drink was found to be carrying her unborn twin.
日前，一名胃已肿大到无法进食的女婴，被发现其胃内竟藏着她未诞生的双胞胎姐妹。
Doctors were astonished to find the 7lb 11oz (3.5kg) mass of bone, flesh and hair inside the girl's abdomen. She was finally diagnosed with 'foetus in fetu', a rare condition with only 200 cases ever reported worldwide.
当发现该女孩的腹部有7磅11盎司重的骨头，肉和毛发时，医生们也很震惊。她最终被诊断为“胎中胎”，这是一种罕见的情况，全球也就报道过200例。
The shocking discovery was uncovered after her parents Raju and Sumathi, suspected a tumour and rushed her to hospital. They said the 15-month old had been crying for weeks and could not eat or drink anything.

She was taken to Sri Ganapathy Krishna Hospital, a private health centre in Tamil Nadu, southern India.

Doctors initially thought she had a huge cyst and were astonished to find the growth in her stomach. The doctors then immediately carried out surgery to remove it.
医生们刚开始以为她只是有了一个巨型囊肿，但是当发现她胃内有东西在生长时，也大吃一惊。而后，医生们立马进行了手术，将其移除。
Paediatric Surgeon Dr Vijayagiri, who performed the operation, said: 'I first believed she had a cyst or tumour till the ultrasound and scan showed that there were bony areas, calcified region and a teratoma-like structure (a tumour containing tissues and organs). That was when I suspected that it was a foetus-in-fetu and quickly looked up some literature. It was only when I removed the structure, could I confirm that it was definitely a foetus.'
儿科医师Vijayagiri做的该手术，他说道：“刚开始我以为她是囊肿或者是肿瘤，直至超声和扫描显示出骨骼区域、钙化区域和一个类似于畸胎瘤的结构（一个包含组织和器官的肿瘤）。当我怀疑是'胎中胎'时，便立马快速查阅了一些文献。只有当我移除了这一结构时，我才确认这确实是一个胎儿。”
Sumathi, 28, said: 'She always had a slightly larger than normal stomach but we ignored it until she stared crying endlessly and began having issues breathing and having food. I am thankful to doctors for removing the foetus and giving her a new life.'
28岁的苏马蒂说道：“她的胃一直以来都比正常人的要大，但是我们并没有在意，直到她不停地哭闹，并开始出现呼吸和饮食问题。感谢医生们移除了胎儿，给了她新生。”
