【背景】

1月25日5时50分左右，辽宁省大连市金普新区友谊街道金渤海憬附近发生爆炸事故，事故原因初步判断是金州天成燃气公司燃气管道泄露导致爆炸。爆炸产生的玻璃碎片导致8名群众受轻伤，3人死亡，受伤群众已经全部转送到医院进行救治。

Three people were killed and eight others were wounded by explosions around 6 am on Monday near a residential community in Dalian Jinpu New Area, Liaoning province, according to Dalian's emergency management bureau.

据大连市应急管理局消息，周一早上6点左右，辽宁省大连市金普新区一住宅小区附近发生爆炸，造成3人死亡，8人受伤。

当地政府周一表示，初步分析显示，天成燃气公司（gas company）燃气管道泄漏（gas pipeline leak）导致爆炸（explosions）。
经进一步核实（upon further verification），凌晨5时50分左右，金普新区友谊街道金渤海憬小区附近共发生2次爆炸，第一次爆炸发生后，现场约10台车辆不同程度损坏（damaged to varying degrees）并有车辆起火（caught fire），消防（firefighters）接警后迅速到达现场救援（arrived at the scene for rescue）。救援过程中，附近一汽车维修店（car repair shop）又发生爆炸起火（another explosion and fire broke out）。
大连金普新区是中国第十个国家级新区（State-level new area），新区应急管理办公室表示，受伤人员已被送往医院救治（taken to the hospital for treatment）。
当地多个部门及金普新区有关负责人和救援人员（rescue workers）第一时间赶往现场（rushed to the scene）处置。目前，现场明火已扑灭（fire has been extinguished），事故原因（the cause of the accident）正在调查中（under investigation）。
