A political advisor to Shanghai's legislation will be proposing the establishment of a cooling-off period for marriage registration to the city's annual legislation and political advisory sessions scheduled for late January, according to Shanghai-based online news portal The Paper.

据上海在线新闻门户网站澎湃新闻报道，上海一名政协委员计划在定于1月底举行的代表大会会议和政治协商会议上建议设立婚姻登记冷静期。

上周四，上海中伦律师事务所合伙人（co-partner）徐姗姗在上海律师协会的一次会议上透露了她的提案（proposal）。
徐姗姗建议，保障婚前配偶知情权（protect the right to know of couples before marriage），大力倡导婚前医学检查（advocate premarital medical examination），探索建立婚姻登记异议期（marriage registration objection period）。
徐姗姗说，婚前没有做强制性的婚前检查（compulsory premarital examination before marriage），实际上，对于双方真实信息的了解（truly knowing the background of one another）非常有必要，不然会出现婚姻无效的情况。
此外，会议期间，徐珊珊还建议上海自贸区（free trade zone）引进可以冷冻女性卵子（freeze female eggs）的设施。
