北京消息，据卫生部门周五发布的报告显示，2013年9月中国内地传染病死亡1478人，其中艾滋病为第一位死因。

据国家卫计委消息，上个月艾滋病死亡1084人。第二大杀手（second-biggest killer）是肺结核（tuberculosis），导致161人死亡（claim，有夺去生命，导致死亡的意思）。排在第三位的是狂犬病（rabies），死亡128人。全国共报告法定传染病例（infectious disease cases）597843例。
其中霍乱（cholera）报告11例，无死亡（result in death）；瘟疫（plague）和霍乱归类为（categorize）甲类（Class A）传染病，即最严重的传染病。
另外，共300,391起病例为乙类（Class B）传染病。肝炎（hepatitis）、肺结核、梅毒（syphilis）、细菌性和阿米巴性痢疾（dysentery）和淋病（gonorrhea），占乙类传染病报告发病总数的95%。
丙类传染病发病297441例，死亡20人（claim 20 lives）。最常见的病程依次为手足口病（foot-and-mouth disease）、其它感染性腹泻病（infectious diarrhea）和流行性腮腺炎（mumps），占丙类传染病报告病例总数的96％。
