when we saw those two cars hitting each other.
It was very loud.

Emergency services
People say that our life would be very peaceful if we had no floods,
earthquakes, thunder storms and other natural disasters,or man-made emergencies.
However,these things do exist.
That's the reason why emergency services are extremely important.
Everywhere around the world, emergency services help save millions of people.
They act quickly and appear at accident scenes in no time.
Sometimes the rescue workers risk their lives, bringing people to safety.
They help the fractured patient with a bandage;stop the injured from bleeding;
treat swelling with an ice-pack
and give the patients the right capsules or tablets.
The emergency services in the west are a bit different from ours.
They get many volunteers to work no the rescue teams.
Some of the emergency service units are made up entirely of volunteers.
Those volunteers are well trained.
They receive training in first aid and general rescue techniques.
They stand ready to assist at a moment's notice,
often in difficult and dangerous situations.
They are willing to give up their time to help the community.
They pride themselves on being able to rescue people from dangerous places.
Wherever the accidents and threats are,
the rescue team will soon be there and if you are looking for help,
the rescue workers can be easily identified
by their brightly coloured yellow or orange overalls.
11.Listen,read and act.
The family is now at the dinner table talking about the ambulance workers.
LiMeng:You know,they were so quick.
The men in the cars were carried carefully into the ambulance
and then they left in no time.
Mr.Davis:Yeah.A minute might mean life or death.
Xiaohong:I think I'll be an ambulance worker when I grow up.
LiMeng:That;s usually a man's job.
Xiaohong:So what?A girl can do everything a man does.
Mrs.Davis:Well,you can work as a nurse,or even a doctor,dear.
You also help many people in those jobs.
Xiaohong:Yeah.I never thought about it.Doctors are always treated with respect.
LiMeng:Sure. But do you know if you want to become a doctor,
you have to do well in Maths?
Daniel:I don't think Maths is a problem to her.
