Exercise 2.2
Soon they came to an apple tree full of fruit
The best apples were at the top,
so the giant bent the branches over for the
tailor to pick some.
But when the little tailor caught hold of the
top branch,
the tree pulled him right over the top.
"You can't even hold down a little branch!"
said the giant.
"Of course I can," replied the tailor.
"I wanted to jump over the tree
and eat the fruit here. Can you?"
The giant tried to jump over
but got his foot caught in the branches.
Just then the king and his soldiers came by.
"What's this?" the king asked.
"I've just caught this giant,"
said the tailor.
Since the giant had been a great headache
in the country,
the king gave the tailor a bag of gold.
Soon, everyone in the land had heard about
the brave little tailor who caught the giant.
And so the little tailor became famous
and rich and lived happily ever after.
