Li Ming is looking at Wang Mei's new computer.
李明正在看王梅的新电脑。
Monitor ,Screen ,Keyboard ,Mouse ,
显示器,屏幕,键盘,鼠标,
Keys ,Enter ,Shift ,Space Bar ,
键,回车,切换,空格,
"This is a beautiful computer," he says.
“这是台漂亮的电脑，”他说。
"Now you can connect to the Internet!"
“现在你可以连接网络了！”
"How do you connect to the Internet?" says Wang Mei.
“你怎么连网？”王梅问。
"Will you help me?"
“你会帮我吗？”
"Sure," Li Ming says.
“当然了，”李明说。
"I'd be glad to help you.
“很高兴能帮你的忙。
Let's turn on the computer."
让我们打开电脑。”
Li Ming pushes the "on" button.
李明按下了“on”按钮。
The computer makes a noise.
电脑发出了一声响声。
Wang Mei and Li Ming see a picture of the world.
王梅和李明看到了地球的图标。
Under the world, they see the word "Internet."
在地球图标的下面，他们看见了“Internet”这个词。
"Choose the 'world', Wang Mei," says Li Ming.
“王梅，点击那个地球的图标，”李明说。
"There!" says Wang Mei. The computer makes another noise.
“好了。”王梅说。电脑发出了另一声响声。
Then the screen says, "Connection failed. Try again."
接着屏幕显示：“连接失败。请重试。”
"What does 'failed' mean?" asks Wang Mei. “‘failed’
是什么意思？”王梅问。
"When something fails, it does not succeed," says Li Ming.
李明说：“‘failed’就是没成功。”
"Oh! I see what's wrong!
“噢！我知道什么地方出问题了！
We forgot to connect the computer to the phone line."
我们忘了把电脑连上电话线了。”
Here. Connect this to the computer.
在这儿。把这个连到电脑上面。
"Ready!" says Wang Mei.
“好了吗？”王梅说。
"Let's try again," says Li Ming.
“我们再试试，”李明说。
This time the computer says, "Connecting. Please wait..."
这时电脑显示：“连接中。请等待……”
Suddenly, the words change.
突然，文字变了。
Now the screen says, "Connected."
现在电脑显示：“已连接。”
"Fantastic!" shouts Wang Mei.
“太神奇了！”王梅喊道。
