pull up one's socks 重新再做
【讲解】
sock意指“短袜或护套（短袜状）”。该习语直译为“提上自己的袜子”，形容某人要快步跟上，引申为“努力工作，重新再做”。例如：The class were told that there would be no outing unless they pulled their socks up.（已经告诉这班的学生，要是他们不努力，就不能出去玩。）
