1:Most experts believe this can continue even if the population
doubles by the mid-21st century,although feeding I0 billion people
will not be easy for politics, economic and environmental reasons S6.___
2:Culture is essentially to our humanness. It provides a kind of S8.______
map for relating to others.
3:Their experiments have shown that reading disorders are most
likely the result of what is, in effect, faulty wiring in the brain—
not lazy, stupidity or a poor home environment S4._____

Language learning begins with listening. Individual children vary

hardly be regarded as early forms of language. Is is agreed, too, from 8.______
about three months they play with sounds for enjoyment, and that by six

leads on to deliberate imitation of sounds making or words spoken to 9.______
