A senior Hamas official has made public a list of 34 hostages that he says the group is willing to release in the first stage of a potential ceasefire agreement with Israel.

Among those named on the list, which has been shared with the BBC are 10 women and 11 older male hostages, as well as young children that Hamas previously claimed were killed in an Israeli airstrike.

If this list is correct, that's a big step. That's nearly half of the hostages that Hamas are holding.
