A short take off in landing transport aircraft made its debut at the first AERO Asia show in Zhuhai.

I spoke with Patrick Molander, the chief pilot who flew the plane from Germany, via several belt and road partner countries, before the show kicked off.

It's like a pickup truck. You can land on very short runways.

There are very few parts of the airplane that are metallic. I would say it's safer than metal.

Basically the advantage is that you can land in smaller cities where they don't even have an airport, but you can easily make a small airport for this one.
它的优势就在于你可以在没有机场的小城市降落，可以临时找个地方让它降落。
The advantage of that performance is that you can land at high altitudes.
此外还有个优势就是可以在高海拔地区降落。
So, like in the western part of China where the elevation is very high, you can still operate safely with this airplane.
比如在中国西部的一些高原地区，你一样可以安全地驾驶这架飞机。
One of the main uses that we are looking at now is for parachute jumping and skydiving.

I think that is quite a big market here in China.

China is very evolving market especially when it comes to smaller airplanes.

And then we put together a team here in China that will make a certification and a local production of this airplane in China.

Patrick, I noticed that we have a panda here and there's a cute teddy bear on your left.

Why do we have them here on this aircraft.

These are our mascots, our jumpers.

So they're showing that we're doing a skydiving airplane.

And they're already outside the airplane, ready to go.
