Police in the southeastern U.S. state of Virginia Monday were still searching for a suspect in the shooting that left three people dead and two others wounded on the University of Virginia campus.

In a letter posted to social media, University of Virginia President Jim Ryan said three people were killed and two others wounded in a shooting at a parking garage on the north edge of the Charlottesville campus late Sunday.

Ryan wrote the alleged suspect was a student Christopher Darnell Jones of Richmond.

Britain and France have signed an agreement Monday to join forces to curb the tide of migrants across the English Channel into Britain.
