Over the past 10 years, this green line representing the ecological zone of the Yellow River, expanded by about a hundred and fifty kilometers at its widest point.

Progress has also been made in the ecological protection and restoration of the Yangtze River basin.

Once home to tens of thousands of chemical enterprises, the Yangtze River was plagued by chemical pollution.

In 2012, there were more than 20 thousand chemical firms located within three kilometers of the river.
