Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will host the first meeting of an international forum on COVID-19 vaccine cooperation on August 5.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian says the meeting aims to promote the equitable distribution of vaccines.
It will be held via video link.
Zhao also says China has provided over 700 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to countries around the world, especially developing nations.
