Fifty minutes past the hour now is turning the Entertainment and Culture.
The touching story of a textile worker in Jiangsu province, who later rose as a national-level model worker, has been taken to the big screen.
The film Gui Xiang Jie is due on Friday.
The film is based on renowned Chinese writer Fan Xiaoqing's novel of the same name.
Director Shi Lei says he was impressed by the book.
"I remember the writer said in preface that there is neither big ups and downs nor magnificent scenes in her literature. But I think that readers or moviegoers will be touched by the good deeds done by such an ordinary person who lives nearby."
The story is about Xu Qiaozhen, who has been working for a community service center for 21 years. She's known for using her salary to help her neighbors.
Xu Qiaozhen died in 2015. She was given an honorary title as 'nicest leader' at the grass-roots level by China's publicity authorities.
The film is part of the efforts to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
