Vice President Mike Pence is in South Korea to lead the US Winter Olympic delegation. North Korea says it's not interested in meeting with him while he's there.
North Korea held a massive military parade and rally, one day before the Winter games began. More than 10,000 troops spent several weeks training for the event.
Senate republican and democratic leaders say they have a two-year budget agreement. It includes extra 300 billion dollars for military and domestic programs. Without a budget, the federal government shuts down Thursday night.
And runners braved 86 flights of stairs as they raced up New York's Empire State Building. Austrilian Suzy Walsham won the women's race. Columbia's Frank Carreno won the men's event.
