New Turkish PM wins parliament confidence vote

The newly-formed Turkish government headed by Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has won a parliamentary vote of confidence.

Yildirim was backed by 315 parliamentarians, while 138 voted against. Yildirim is a close ally of President Tayyip Erdogan and a co-founder of the ruling Justice and Development Party. He's replaced Ahmet Davutoglu, who said he was stepping down after weeks of tension with Erdogan.
