Ken’s Eyes
肯的眼睛
Ken woke up. It was his holiday, finally! He would do so many things.
肯醒来了。终于到了他的假期了！他想做好多事情。
Ken didn’t know what to do, so he went and watched TV.
他不知道要做点什么，于是就去看电视了。
But he didn’t just watch TV for ten minutes. He watched TV for three hours.
但他可不是只看十分钟的电视。他看了三个小时。
Then, Ken noticed that his eyes hurt.
然后，肯发现他的眼睛很疼。
‘Ow!’ said Ken. ‘My eyes hurt!’
‘嗷！’肯说。‘我的眼睛好疼！’
So Ken stopped watching TV and read a book.
于是肯不看电视了，他开始看书了。
But he didn’t just read ten pages. He read the book for five hours.
但他可不是只看了十页。他看了五个小时的书。
Then, Ken noticed that his eyes still hurt.
然后，肯发现他的眼睛很疼。
‘Ow!’ said Ken. ‘My eyes still hurt! Hmm, maybe I need to go outside. If I go outside, maybe my eyes won’t hurt.’
‘嗷！’肯说。‘我的眼睛还是好疼！嗯，也许我该出去看看。如果出去，眼睛就不疼了。’
So Ken went to the cinema and watched a film. But he didn’t just watch one film.
于是肯去了电影院看电影。但他不是只看了一个电影。
He watched three films, and he was at the cinema for seven hours!
他看了三场电影，他在电影院待了7个小时！
Afterwards, Ken came outside and noticed that his eyes still hurt.
之后，肯到外面去，发现他的眼睛还是很疼。
‘Ow!’ said Ken. ‘How do my eyes still hurt? I don’t understand!’
‘嗷！’肯说。‘为什么我的眼睛还是那么疼？我不明白！’
By now, it was late and Ken was tired. So he went home and went to bed.
现在已经很晚了，肯也累了。于是他回家睡觉了。
But Ken didn’t just sleep for eight hours, he slept for twenty hours.
但肯可不是睡了八小时，他睡了二十个小时。
When Ken woke up, he noticed that his eyes didn’t hurt.
肯醒来的时候，他发现眼睛不疼了。
‘Hurray!’ said Ken. ‘My eyes don’t hurt!’
‘太棒啦！’肯说。‘我的眼睛不疼了！’
But then Ken stood up and noticed that his back hurt.
但肯站起来的时候发现他的背很疼。
‘Ow!’ said Ken. ‘Why does my back hurt? Oh, well. I’ll go watch TV.’
‘嗷！’肯说。‘我的背怎么会疼呢？哦，我还是去看电视吧。’

丽莎的牙齿
Lisa loved brushing her teeth.
丽莎喜欢刷牙。
Most people brush their teeth twice a day, but Lisa brushed her teeth much more than twice a day.
大多数人每天刷两次牙，但丽莎每天远不止刷两次牙。
She didn’t know how many times a day she brushed her teeth, because she brushed them so often.
她不知道自己每天刷几次牙，因为她刷的太勤了。
In the morning, Lisa sat on the bus and brushed her teeth.
早上，丽莎坐在公交车上会刷牙。
A man who sat next to her said, ‘Why are you brushing your teeth?’

Lisa said, ‘I don’t want cavities! You should brush your teeth, too.

You’ll get cavities, and then you’ll have to get a filling.’

When Lisa got to work, she sat at her desk and brushed her teeth.

Jenny sat next to Lisa. Jenny was talking on the phone.

‘Lisa!’ said Jenny. ‘I can’t hear what they’re saying because you’re brushing your teeth. Stop it!’

‘No!’ said Lisa. ‘I don’t want cavities and fillings. You should brush your teeth while you talk on the phone.’

After work, Lisa went for a drink with her friend Sang.
下班后，丽莎和朋友桑一起去喝酒。
They drank beer, and Sang talked about his girlfriend.
他们喝了啤酒，桑说起了自己的女朋友。
But every time Lisa drank beer, she brushed her teeth.
但丽莎每喝一次酒，就要刷一次牙。
‘Lisa!’ said Sang. ‘I’m talking to you about my girlfriend, but you’re not listening. Stop brushing your teeth!’
‘丽莎！’桑说。‘我在跟你聊我女友呢，但你都不停。别刷牙了！’
‘Sang, you and your girlfriend can get cavities, but I don’t want them. Fillings are expensive!’
‘桑，你和你女朋友会长龋齿的，我可不想长。补牙很贵的！’
The next day, Lisa went to the dentist. At the dentist, three other people were waiting.
第二天，丽莎去看牙医。在牙医那儿，有三个人在等着。
There was the man from the bus, Jenny from work and Lisa’s friend Sang.
有公交车上那个男人，有同事詹妮，还有丽莎的朋友桑。
‘Hello!’ Lisa said to them.
‘你们好呀！’丽莎说。
The man from the bus went into the dentist’s office, and he came out smiling.
公交车上的那个男人进了牙医的办公室，出来的时候笑着。
‘The doctor says my teeth are great!’
‘医生时候我的牙很好！’
Next, Jenny went into the dentist’s office, and she came out smiling.
接下来，詹妮进了牙医的办公室，出来的时候也笑着。
‘See, Lisa? My teeth are fine!’
‘看到了吧，丽莎？我的牙齿好着呢！’
Next, Sang went into the dentist’s office, and he came out smiling, as well.
接下来，桑进了牙医的办公室，出来的时候还是笑着。
‘Lisa, you really worry too much.’
‘丽莎，你真的过度担心了。’
Then Lisa went into the dentist’s office. The dentist looked at her teeth.
然后，丽莎进了牙医的办公室。牙医看了看她的牙齿。
‘Oh dear,’ he said. ‘What?’ said Lisa. ‘Are my teeth perfect?’
‘哦天呐’他说。‘怎么了？’丽莎问。‘我的牙齿很完美吧？’
‘No. You have twenty cavities.’ ‘What?!’ said Lisa.
‘不是，你有二十个牙洞。’‘什么？’丽莎问。
‘I think you’re brushing your teeth too much. There are too many cavities, so we can’t use fillings.
‘我觉得你刷牙太频繁了。牙洞太多了，我们没法补牙。
We will have to use a big hammer to take all your teeth out.
我们得用大锤子把你所有的牙全敲掉。
Then, we’ll take the teeth from a cow and use a small hammer to put the cow’s teeth in your mouth.’
然后，我们再从奶牛身上取下牙，用小锤子把奶牛的牙给你安上。’
‘WHAT?!’ said Lisa.
‘什么？！’丽莎说。
The next day, Lisa went into work. Jenny smiled at her and said, ‘Lisa, how are your teeth?’
第二天，丽莎去上班。詹妮笑着跟她说‘丽莎，你的牙怎么样啊？’
Lisa opened her mouth and said, ‘Moo.’
丽莎张开嘴说：‘哞。’
