So that was a really interesting talk you gave us something about your transition from obviously music to movies.

And a lot of Asian singers as part of I guess their career development and I think they go into movies at some point, usually as actors. What draws you behind the camera?

Well, just to actually some people who are more familiar with me, I actually started off studying film. I was a film major, along with a psychology major.

And throughout high school and even actually after college, after university, I had really only one desire and that was to go into film. But it didn't happen.
高中期间，甚至大学毕业后，我只有一个愿望，那就是进入电影界。但这并没有实现。
And by some weird coincidence, I actually got into music. So in some ways I'm actually I took a big detour.

And I'm kind of I found the path back to where I actually originally wanted to go.
我找到了回到我最初想去的地方的路。
So that's kind of why I'm kind of moving, I guess in a way back into what I really wanted to do.

And it's a tough process because like I am sharing today, a lot of what I need to do now is kind of letting go, is to put down a lot of the things that I used to know and I used to be familiar with.

And that's actually a very typical process, probably the most difficult process of all, even more difficult than actually learning something new.

And you obviously you know from the States, partially partly from Taiwan? But where do you plan on building that movie career?

You know I don't actually necessarily have to be based anywhere. My films may not necessarily always be shot in one particular place.
我实际上不一定非要在任何地方工作。我的电影不一定总是在某个特定的地方拍摄。
Say Woody Allen or Scorsese, they typically shoot in New York. For me, it's more about where the story takes.

And then I firmly believe that whatever I do shoot or I do direct, it needs to be a true extension of myself.

I mean the genre is actually kind of not the main thing. It could be an action film. It could be a comedy. It could be a drama. It could be a talkie, whatever.

But I think at the core is what the story is about, what do I want to say as a person and then as a director.
