Journey to the West Chapter 10 The Powerful Sage
《西游记》第十章：神仙捉猴王
"How will we defeat Sun Wukong?" moaned the Jade Emperor.
“我们要怎么打败孙悟空呢？”玉帝痛苦地说，
"I sent our entire army, and they couldn't arrest him!"
“我已经把所有天兵天将都派出去了，结果却抓不住他！”
"Perhaps we can ask the sage Erlang to capture him," said Guanyin.
“或许我们可以请二郎神前去抓他。”观音菩萨说。
"Yes," said the Jade Emperor. "Erlang is very powerful."
“对！”玉帝说，“二郎神非常厉害。”
He turned back to the messenger. "Go to Plum Mountain. Ask Erlang if he'll help us."
他转身看向信使：“快去！请二郎神来帮忙。”
Wukong stood in front of the waterfall with his cheering subjects.
悟空站在水帘洞前，众猴围着他欢呼。
"Our king has just defeated an entire army from Heaven!" said the gibbon.
“我们大王打败了所有天兵天将！”长臂猿说。
"I hope the Jade Emperor learned his lesson," said Sun Wukong. "He and his army are no match for—"
“我希望玉帝能明白。”孙悟空说，“他和他的天兵天将根本不......”
"Sun Wukong!" a deep voice boomed.
“孙悟空！”一道低沉的声音传来。
Wukong looked up. A large man was coming down from the sky. The apes and other monkeys ran and hid.
孙悟空向天上看去。一个巨人从天上飞了下来。猴子们躲了起来。
"I am Erlang," said the man. "The Jade Emperor sent me to arrest you."
“我是二郎神。”那个人说，“玉帝命我来抓你。”
Wukong laughed. "The Jade Emperor's entire army couldn't defeat me. What do you think you're going to do?"
孙悟空大笑。“玉帝的十万天兵天将都败了。你觉得你能把我怎样？”
"I am going to take you back to Heaven," said Erlang. "And you will be punished!"
“我要将你带回天庭。”二郎神说，“你会受到惩罚！”
Waving his iron bar, Wukong leaped at Erlang. Clang! Erlang blocked the bar with his sword and then struck back.
悟空拿着金箍棒向二郎神冲过去。哐当！二郎神用他的剑挡住了金箍棒，然后向孙悟空刺了一剑。
Wukong jumped onto a cloud to get out of the way.
悟空跳上云头躲开了。
Erlang leaped into the air. He shook his body and suddenly grew much bigger.
二郎神也跳到空中。他晃了晃身体，突然越变越大。
Wukong laughed. "I can do that too!"
悟空笑了：“我也可以！”
He shook his body and grew just as big as Erlang.
悟空摇了摇身体，变得跟二郎神一样大。
Clouds swirled and wind blew as the two giants fought in the sky. Their weapons banged together all through the night.
两个巨人在天上打斗，风起云涌。他们操着兵器斗了整整一夜。
They were still fighting when the sun rose the next morning.
第二天一早太阳升起的时候，他们的打斗依然没有停止。
"This fight could last forever," thought Wukong. "I should try a different plan."
“真是没完没了。”悟空想，“我得想个办法。”
Wukong struck at Erlang one last time and then jumped back down to Earth.
悟空用金箍棒捅向二郎神，然后跳到了地上。
He turned himself into a sparrow and perched on a branch.
他变成了一只麻雀，停在树上。
"Erlang will never find me now," thought Wukong.
“现在二郎神找不到我了。”悟空想。
He looked up and saw a hawk. The hawk swooped toward him.
他抬头看到了一只老鹰。那只老鹰直直向他扑来。
"Oh no!" thought Wukong. "That's Erlang!"
“哦！不！”悟空想，“是二郎神！”
Wukong dived into a stream. He turned himself into a fish and swam in the water. But then a crane flew over the stream.
悟空一头扎进了小溪里，变成了一条鱼在水里游。然而，后面却有只鹤在溪上飞。
The crane swooped down at the water. Its mouth was wide open.
那只鹤朝着水面冲下来。它的嘴张的大大的。
Wukong shot out of the stream. He changed back into himself and ran down a hill.
悟空冲出了小溪，马上变回原来的样子，跑下了山。
"I'll turn myself into a temple," he thought. "Then, if Erlang tries to enter, I'll bite him!"
“我要变成一座庙。”他想，“如果二郎神走进来，我就吞了他！”
Wukong's eyes became windows, and his mouth became a door. He turned his tail into a flagpole.
悟空的眼睛变成了窗户，嘴巴变成了庙门，而他的尾巴则变成了旗杆。
A moment later Erlang came down the hill. When he saw the temple, he scratched his head.
不一会儿，二郎神就从山上追了下来。当他看到这座庙的时候，挠了挠脑袋。
"Hmm," said Erlang. "I never saw a temple with a flagpole before. This must be Wukong. I'll kick in that door."
“嗯。”二郎神说，“我从没看过前面带根旗杆的庙。这一定是孙悟空变的。我要踢开这扇门。”
"Oh no!" thought Wukong. "He'll break all my teeth!"
“哦！不行！”悟空想，“他会撞掉我的牙的！”
Wukong changed back into himself and ran. Erlang was right behind him.
悟空变回原形逃跑，二郎神在后面追。
Up in Heaven the Jade Emperor, the queen, and Guanyin watched the chase. The sage Laozi came over to them.
天庭上，玉帝、王母娘娘和观音菩萨一直在看着。太上老君来到了天庭。
"What's going on?" he asked, looking down.
“发生了什么事？”他问着向下界看去。
"That monkey, Sun Wukong, ate all the peaches from the garden," said the Jade Emperor.
“那只叫孙悟空的猴子吃光了蟠桃园的蟠桃。”玉帝说，
"Then he defeated our entire army. Erlang is trying to catch him now."
“而且他打败了我们所有的天兵天将。现在二郎神正在捉拿他。”
"I can help," said Laozi.
“我可以帮忙。”太上老君说。
He took a metal ring off his arm.
他从手臂上取下了一个金属环。
He aimed carefully and hurled it down to Earth.
他仔细瞄准后将金属环扔向了下界。
Clunk! The ring hit Wukong on the head. The monkey looked dizzy for a moment and then fell to the ground.
砰！那环打在了悟空的脑袋上。悟空看上去晕了一会儿，然后就倒在了地上。
