A chilling murder case has been solved after 16 years, that has led to the arrest of a man who murdered his live-in girlfriend and encased the body in cement on the balcony of their home.
一桩令人不寒而栗的谋杀案在16年后终于破获，一名男子谋杀了他的同居女友，并将尸体用水泥封砌在他们家的阳台上。
According to the Geoje police, the arrest happened on Monday, September 23.
据巨济市警方透露，逮捕行动于周一（9月23日）展开。
The 58-year-old man is accused of fatally striking the victim, a woman in her 30s, with a blunt object during an argument back in October 2008, at their residence in Geoje, South Gyeongnam province.
这名58岁的男子被指控于2008年10月在庆尚南道巨济市的住所内，在争吵当中用钝器猛击受害人（一名30多岁的女性）。
The blow resulted in her death.
猛击最终导致该女子死亡。
To conceal the crime, the man first placed the victim's body in a travel suitcase before entombing the body to hide his crime.

He even painted the bricks and cement with green paint to make it appear like it was part of the balcony strcture. It seemed like the perfect crime.

For many years, the woman's disappearance was filed as a long-term missing person case, but resurfaces when the landlord's decision to carry out leak repair inadvertently, uncovered the concealed remains last month.

The police were able to identify the remains through fingerprints and DNA testing as the body of the victim who was reported missing in 2011.

According to the police, the man admitted to his charges during investigation of both murdering and hiding the victim's body in 2010.

The police also revealed that the culprit continued to live in the same residence, where the body was hidden for 8 years after the murder until 2016.
