First we should mention a few things about pronouns in general.

We divide pronouns into different groups--subject pronouns, object pronouns and possessive pronouns.

We can think of them as pronoun families!

Possessive pronouns act like determiners, appear before nouns and suggest relationships or belonging.

In the first person we have the singular form "my" and the plural form "our."

For example: "My father is very kind," or "Our father is very kind."

In the second person, we have "your."

For example: "Your mother is very kind."
