今天的音频节目让我想起了木心先生的《从前慢》：

从前 车马很慢 书信很远

一生只够爱一个人

也让我想起了N年前蔡依林的一首歌《愈慢愈美丽》：

慢呼吸 慢游戏 慢爱情

慢慢聆听 慢努力 慢慢着急

愈慢愈美丽 慢开心 慢犹豫

慢慢计算心情 慢慢看日出的轨迹

在这个匆忙的时代，想必慢下来的代价是很多人不能承受之重吧？

今天的Buzzword就让我们暂时放下焦虑, 来聊聊 Slow Living慢生活吧。

字面上的【慢生活】很好理解, 就是在生活的各个方面, 都能把速度降下来, 能用更加气定神闲的心态去做所有的事。

Slow Living

It is a life style which encourages a slower approach to aspects of everyday life, involving completing tasks at a leisurely pace.

慢生活的支持者和践行者通常认为现在都市里这种快节奏的生活方式会造成很多焦虑和混乱, 而只有把节奏慢下来, 人才能去享受生活；

也才能够欣赏生活中的感官之美, 并能更好地活在当下。

The Slow Living movement focuses on the idea that a fast-paced way of living is chaotic whereas a slower pace encourages enjoyment of life, then people will have a deeper appreciation of sensory experiences, and the ability to live in the present moment.

Slow Food Movement-慢食运动

说到慢生活运动的起源, 就要回溯到1986年的意大利罗马, 因为当时麦当劳准备在罗马的著名地标西班牙广场开店, 而遭到了不少人的抵制。

So the Slow Living Movement or the Slow Movement advocates a cultural shift toward slowing down life's pace.

And it began with Carlo Petrini's protest against the opening of a McDonald's restaurant in Piazza di Spagna, in Rome, in1986.

And that sparked the creation of the Slow Food Movement, 而就此兴起了一场叫做【慢食运动】的风潮。

At the heart of this movement is the aim to promote local food, traditional gastronomy, and food production.

他的目的就是为了推广本地食, 通过支持传统的美食文化和食物制作方法, 来与这种全球化的连锁快餐抗衡。

这场慢食运动逐渐蔓延到世界上100多个国家, 而慢食运动组织也会在各地通过食物品鉴、品酒会、集市等等各种形式的活动, 去支持当地的农民、匠人以及当地的美食。

虽然起源于食物领域, 但慢节奏的风潮很快就蔓延到其他很多领域, 并成为了一个亚文化。

The Slow Food Organization has expanded to include over 100,000 members with branches in over 150 countries.

It strives to promote local artisans, local farmers and local flavors through regional events such as taste workshops, wine tastings, and farmers markets.

SLow Fashion-慢时尚

大家听过类似 Zara, H&M 这种快时尚, 其实相应的还有Slow Fashion, 慢时尚。

如果说慢食运动针对的是这些全球连锁的快餐, 那么慢时尚针对的就是批量生产的快时尚。

This term was coined in 2007 by Kate Fletcher. So Slow Fashion offers an alternative to mass produced clothing.

Some examples of slow fashion practices may include choosing artisan products to support smaller businesses, fair trade, and locally made clothes.

慢时尚包括选择本地规模较小的手工艺人, 比如说裁缝铺子做出来的衣服, 买二手古着；或者是定期捐出自己已经不穿的衣服；或者在购买衣服的时候选择质量较好的经典款, 这样一件衣服可以穿上很多年。

And if you're really talented, you can do it yourself, make, mend, customize, or alter your own clothes.

To talk about Slow Living, you might also hear another word called Down Shifting.

Down Shifting-减速生活

Down Shift 本意是在驾驶汽车的时候挂较低的挡，而说到生活方式Down Shift就经常被翻作【减速生活】。

其实也就是很多人开始拒绝鸡血式的生活和内卷, 开始拥抱更简单的生活方式。

同时也是一种对于物欲和消费主义的舍弃。

This is a trend where individuals adapt simpler lives away from what critics call the “Rat Race”

It is also a shift away from materialism and consumerism.

And for people who are down shifting, the primary motivations are gaining leisure time.

对于想要减速生活的人, 他们主要关注的是能获取更多的个人休闲的时间, 哪怕这意味着赚的更少。

尽量跳出这种拼命工作-拼命挣钱-拼命花的循环,也会愿意断舍离, 割舍不必要的身外之物。

Escape from work-and-spend cycle, and removing the clutter of unnecessary possessions.

Hearing all of these, some people might say Slow Living just sounds like being lazy.

Actually, it is not.

In a 2004 book In Praise of Slow, the author described the Slow Movement as this: It is a revolution against the notion that faster is always better.

其实慢生活想要反对的是越快越好的这种观念。

慢生活的哲学并不是说做事情要磨蹭,而是说要以最合适的速度去做所有的事情, 尽量把事情做好, 而不是做到最快。

是在所有的事情里面都更加追求"质", 而不是"量"。

毕竟，行色匆匆地活着，很多风景便也就错过了。
