When the wolf had appeased his appetite, he lay down again in the bed, fell asleep and began to snore very loud.
狼心满意足地吃饱后，便重新躺到床上，睡着了，鼾声很响。
The huntsman was just passing the house, and thought to himself, “How the old woman is snoring! I must just see if she wants anything.”
一位猎人碰巧从屋前走过，心想：“这老太太打鼾好响啊！我要进去看看她是不是出什么事了。”
So he went into the room, and when he came to the bed, he saw that the wolf was lying in it.
猎人进了屋，来到床前时却发现躺在那里的竟是狼。
“Do I find thee here, thou old sinner!” said he. “I have long sought thee!”
“你这老坏蛋，我找了你这么久，真没想到在这里找到你！”他说。
Then just as he was going to fire at him, it occurred to him that the wolf might have devoured the grandmother,
他正准备向狼开枪，突然想到，这狼很可能把奶奶吞进了肚子，
and that she might still be saved, so he did not fire, but took a pair of scissors, and began to cut open the stomach of the sleeping wolf.
奶奶也许还活着。猎人就没有开枪，而是拿起一把剪刀，动手把熟睡着的狼的肚子剪开了。
When he had made two snips, he saw the Little Red Riding Hood shining,
他刚剪了两下，就看到了红色的小帽子。
and then he made two snips more, and the little girl sprang out, crying,
他又剪了两下，小红帽便跳了出来，叫道：
“Ah, how frightened I have been! How dark it was inside the wolf;”
“真把我吓坏了！狼肚子里黑漆漆的。”
and after that the aged grandmother came out alive also, but scarcely able to breathe.
接着，奶奶也活着出来了，只是有点喘不过气来。
Little Red Riding Hood, however, quickly fetched great stones with which they filled the wolf’s belly,
小红帽赶紧跑去搬来几块大石头，把他们塞进狼的肚子。
and when he awoke, he wanted to run away, but the stones were so heavy that he collapse at once, and fell dead.
狼醒来之后想离开，可是那些石头太重了，它刚站起来就跌到在地，摔死了。
Then all three were delighted. The huntsman drew off the wolf’s skin and went home with it;
三个人高兴极了。猎人剥下狼皮，带着它回家去了；
the grandmother ate the cake and drank the wine which Little Red Riding Hood had brought, and revived,
奶奶吃了小红帽带来的蛋糕和葡萄酒，身体好多了；
but Little Red Riding Hood thought to herself,
而小红帽却在想：
“As long as I live, I will never by myself leave the path, to run into the wood, when my mother has forbidden me to do so.”
“只要我活着，我一辈子也不会自己离开小路，跑到树林里去，因为我妈妈不允许这样做。”
