Little Red Riding Hood
小红帽
Once upon a time there was a dear little girl who was loved by every one who looked at her,
从前有个可爱的小姑娘，人见人爱，
but most of all by her grandmother, and there was nothing that she would not have given to the child.
但最喜欢她的是她的奶奶，没有什么是她不愿意给孩子的。
Once she gave her a little cap of red velvet, which suited her so well that she would never wear anything else;
一次，奶奶送给小姑娘一顶用丝绒做的小红帽，戴在她的头上正好合适。从此，小姑娘再也不愿意戴任何别的帽子，
so she was always called “Little Red Riding Hood.”
于是大家便叫她“小红帽”。
One day her mother said to her, “Come, Little Red Riding Hood, here is a piece of cake and a bottle of wine;
一天，妈妈对小红帽说：“来，小红帽，这里有一块蛋糕和一瓶葡萄酒，
take them to your grandmother, she is ill and weak, and they will do her good.
快给奶奶送去，奶奶生病了，身子很虚弱，吃了这些就会好一些。
Set out before it gets hot, and when you are going, walk nicely and quietly and do not run off the path,
趁着现在天还没有热，赶紧动身出发吧。在路上好好走路，不要跑，也不要离开大路，
or you may fall and break the bottle, and then your grandmother will get nothing;
否则你会摔跤并且打破瓶子，那样奶奶就什么也吃不上了。
and when you go into her room, don’t forget to say, ‘Good-morning,’ and don’t peep into every corner before you do it.”
到奶奶家的时候，别忘了说‘早上好’，也不要一进屋就东瞧西瞅。”
“I will take great care,” said Little Red Riding Hood to her mother, and gave her hand on it.
“我会小心的。”小红帽对妈妈说，并且还和妈妈拉手作保证。
