You can see how following a few simple steps can help you to extend and develop your answer into something really good.
下面几个简单的步骤可以帮助你扩充和组织答案,从而成为真正不错的答案。
If you can produce answers like this in part three of your IELTS speaking exam, you'll get a good score.
如果能在雅思口语考试的第三部分给出这样的答案,就能得到好成绩。
Okay, I know what you're thinking.
我知道大家在想什么。
Firstly, you're thinking: “Well, that's easy for you, Mr Native Speaker!
首先,你会觉得:“哦,对你来说当然很容易,你的母语是英语!
But how can I do it?" I disagree—I think you can do it.
“但我该怎么做呢?”我不认可你的观点——我觉得大家都能做到。
Here's why: Most of the IELTS students I meet are around bands 5-6-7 and their target is maybe 6, 6.5, 7, rarely higher.
理由:我遇到的多数参加雅思考试的学生,他们的分数在5、6、7分左右,他们的目标分数可能是6分,6.5分,7分,很少会有更高分数。
If you're at this level, you have the language to do something like this.
如果你刚好属于这种情况,那么你就可以像这样组织语言。
Go back, read the answer again. It isn't that complicated.
返回,再读一遍答案。其实没有那么复杂。
I don't use advanced vocabulary or very complicated grammar.
我没有使用高级词汇或非常复杂的语法。
You can do it! Maybe with some mistakes, but if you can understand this video, you can make an answer like this.
没问题的!也许会有一些错误,但如果能理解这个视频,就可以组织出类似这样的答案。
It just takes practice.
勤加练习。
Secondly, maybe you're thinking: “Thanks very much, Oli.
第二,可能你会觉得:“非常感谢,奥利。
Now I know how to answer one question.
现在我知道如何回答问题了。
How does that help me? They're going to ask me different questions in my exam."
这如何能帮助我呢?考官会在考试中问我不同的问题。”
You can use these ideas to answer any question in part three of the IELTS speaking test.
你可以用这些观点回答雅思口语考试第三部分的任何问题。
You can't possibly prepare for every question they might ask you.
你不可能准备好考官可能会询问的每一个问题。
But you can remember to think of reasons, think of examples, and so on.
但你可以记住罗列原因,举例子等思路。
This will make your answers better.
这会让你的答案更加全面。
Next, let's look at some different advice for part three:
接下来,看一些针对第三部分的不同建议。
Number four: use filler phrases to give yourself thinking time.
第四点:使用语气词来给自己思考的时间。
Your answers in part three will often be longer and more complicated compared to part one or part two,
第三部分的答案通常会比第一部分或第二部分的答案更长、更复杂,
so trying to give an answer like this without thinking could be difficult.
所以想要不假思索地给出这样的答案是很困难的。
If you start speaking without thinking first, your answer might be disorganized and difficult to follow.
如果一开始不加思考立即作答,那么你的答案可能会杂乱无章,让人难以理解。
So what should you do? If you need a few seconds to think and organize your thoughts, use a filler phrase.
那么应该怎么做呢?如果需要几秒钟来思考和理清思路,可以使用一个语气词或句子。
For example: "Let me think about that for a second." "That's an interesting question." "What can I say about that?"
例如:“我思考一下。”“这个问题很有趣。”“我应该怎么表达呢?”
You can also use filler phrases in the middle of your answer, if you need to pause and think.
如果需要停下来思考,也可以在作答期间使用语气词。
For example, "What else can I say?" "Let me see—can I think of an example?"
例如,“我还可以再说些什么?”“我想一下,能不能举个例子出来?”
"What other reasons could there be for this?"
“还有什么其他原因吗?”
Filler phrases are natural—native speakers use them, so you can use them, too.
使用语气词非常自然,英语为母语的人士会使用,当然你也可以使用。
It's much better to use a filler phrase than just to sit there in silence.
与其呆坐着,不如使用一个语气短语,效果会好得多。
Using filler phrases like this shows the examiner that you're really thinking about the question, and that you have more to say.
使用这样的语气词可以告诉考官,你真的在思考这个问题,而且你想要表达的内容很多。
On the other hand, don't use filler phrases too much.
另一方面,不要过多使用语气词。
You can't use them for every question or all the time.
不要回答每个问题或作答全程都使用语气词。
Save them for the more complicated questions, when you really need some extra thinking time.
把使用的机会留给更复杂的问题,也就是真的需要一些额外的思考时间的时候。
Filler phrases can give you more thinking time, but what if you really can't think of anything to say? Okay, let's look.
语气词能够给你留出更多思考时间,但是如果真的想不出要说什么该怎么办呢?好的,让我们看看。
Part five: be honest.
第五部分:诚实。
I know we said before that it's OK to lie or make up examples,
前面我们提到了,撒个谎或编造案例是可行的,
but what if you really can't think of anything, even a lie, even a fake story?
但如果你真的什么都想不出来,更别提编谎话,甚至编个假故事了?
If you really have no ideas about something, say so.
如果你真的对某件事不熟悉,但说无妨。
