To answer your question, it can really differ a bit depending on what acid you're talking about.

While old movie supervillains would make you think that acids are just some sort of body-dissolving vat of goo, acid products can vary quite a bit,

Let's focus on that last one for a moment since it's a good example of what acids can do.

Hmm. While I'm certainly not a doctor, and should only really be trusted to talk about pixelitis, it sounds like you might be referring to tinnitus.

Tinnitus is the perception of a sound, often a ringing, in the ears.
