So, I mixed up i.e. and e.g. It happens!

E.g. and i.e. are both Latin abbreviations we use in writing.
E.g.和i.e.都是我们在写作中使用的拉丁文缩略词。
E.g. for exempli gritia and i.e. for id est.
E.g.是“exempli gritia”的缩写，i.e.是“id est”的缩写。

E.g. means "for example", and is used when you want to list one or more examples.
E.g.的意思是例如，它在你想要列出更多例子时使用。
Mark only likes to watch action movies (e.g., Die Hard, James Bond, the Terminator series)
马克只喜欢看动作片（例如《终极警探》、《詹姆斯·邦德》、《终结者》系列）
I.e. means "in other words". It is not used with listing examples, but clarifies an idea with more information.
I.e.的意思是换句话说，它不用于列举例子，而是通过更多的信息澄清一个想法。
Our pet, Sammy, i.e., the Beagle we adopted two years ago, needs to be groomed every day.

Yes! Style! It's important to know that i.e. and e.g. are always written with a period.

After the second period use a comma,

the letters are lowercase if used in the middle of a sentence,

and you can use them with parenthetical statements, or in front of commas or even semicolons.
