As if and As though are conjunctions that have similar meanings.
As if和As though是连词，它们的意思相近。
They are followed by a clause-a group of words with a subject and a predicate.

The structures As if/ As though + A clause are used to describe something that's unreal.
As if/ As though + A clause结构用于描述不真实的东西。
Let's think about the statement, Tom is a child.
我们想想这句话“Tom is a child”。
You could use As if to show that the idea following As if is unture.
你可以用As if来表示它后面的想法是不正确的。
He talked to Tom as if he were a child.

Consider the statement He had never met her.
想想“He had never met her”这句话。
You could use As though to show that the idea is untrue.

He acted as though he had never met her.

Sometimes in conversation, speakers use As if and As though in a slightly different ways.

The idea in the clause may be true.

In conversation, speakers often use As if and As though after the verbs feel and look.
