Well, I was thinking about going over a very common word

The word Okay can be used in different ways, and thus have different meanings.

Americans use Okay often in everyday conversation.

Okay as a noun usually means approval or permission.
作为名词,Okay通常表示同意或许可。
The boss gave her the okay.
老板同意了。
As a verb, Okay has a similar meaning. It means to approve.
作为动词,Okay的意思相近,也是表同意。
Although it is an informal expression, it is still often used in professional settings.

She okayed the project.

As an adjective, Okay means fairly good or not bad.

Now, okay as an adverb is a bit different. How so?

One is to acknowledge what the other person is saying.

And the second is to show the end of the conversation.
