This is Everyday Grammar. I'm Kaveh.
欢迎收看《每日语法》栏目,我是卡维。
And I'm Lucija. Today we're talking about disagreements in everyday conversation.
我是露西佳。今天,我们要讨论的是日常对话中的分歧。
But we should talk about phrasal verbs!
但我们应该谈谈短语动词!
There you go again, always disagreeing with me.
你又来,总是和我唱反调。
In our conversation, Kaveh used the word But as a conjunction.
在我们的对话中,卡维使用But作连词。
It appeared at the beginning of the sentence and indicated disagreement.
它出现在句子开头,表示不同意。
This is the usual use of But in everyday conversation.
这是日常对话中But的常用用法。
Starting a sentence with But indicates a disagreement is stronger and more forceful than usual.
以But开头表示不同意的程度比平常更强烈有力。
Here is another example of the usual use of But.
下面是But常用用法的另一个例子。
Hey! Nice scarf. I really like it.
嘿!你的围巾真漂亮,我很喜欢!
But you told me last week you didn't like it.
但你上周告诉我你不喜欢它。
As you can see, I disagree with Kaveh.
如你所见,我不同意卡维的说法。
When I use the word But, it shows that I have strong feelings about the scarf.
当我用But时,表明我对围巾有强烈的感觉。
I hope this makes sense, because there are other ways to use But.
我希望它有意义,因为But还有其他使用方法。
You can start a sentence with an agreeable word, like Yeah, to reduce the force of your statement.
你可以用一个令人愉快的词来开头,比如Yeah,来削弱你表述的力量。
This way of disagreeing sounds softer and sets a more relaxed tone.
这种不同意的方式听起来更柔和,也更轻松。
Let's demonstrate that again:
我们再演示一遍:
Hey! Nice scarf. I really like it.
嘿!你的围巾真漂亮,我很喜欢!
Yeah, But you told me last week you didn't like it.
是啊,但你上周还告诉我你不喜欢它呢。
That sounds much softer. Here's another example:
这句听起来更柔和些。还有一个例子:
Should we go out to eat?
我们去外面吃饭吧?
Yeah, But I don't know if I have enough money. I didn't get paid yet.
好啊,但我不知道带没带够钱。我还没发工资。
Social customs and grammar play a role in deciding when and how to use But.
社会习俗和语法在决定何时和如何使用But方面起着重要作用。
But don't be nervous, you'll learn with practice!
但不用紧张,你会在练习中学到的!
And that's Everyday Grammar!
