A Prepositional Phrase is a group of words that begins with a preposition and ends in a noun, pronoun or noun phrase,

also called the object of the preposition.

Prepositional Phrases sometimes act like adverbs in a sentence.
介词短语有时在句子中充当副词。
A Prepositional Phrase can be anything from "on the big boat." to "on Monday."
介词短语可以是任何东西，从"on the big boat."（在大船上）到"on Monday."（在星期一）都可以。
Some Prepositional Phrases are adverbial, others are adjectival.

Prepositional Phrases that act as adverbs give more information about place, time, reason, or the way something is done.

Ok, Kaveh, so I have this sentence: Sally was singing.

How would I add Prepositional Phrases to it?

Ok, where did she sing? In the theater.
她在哪儿唱歌？在剧院。
When did it happen? On Saturday.

Ok, now, if you put all these Prepositional Phrases together, it would read:

Sally was singing in the theater on Saturday.

Remember, Prepositional Phrases are fun, because you can move them to different places in a sentence.

The phrases that tell about when something happened are the most movable.

Oh, so I could easily say:

Exactly! Just don't add too many Prepositional Phrases to a sentence, since that might confuse a reader.
