And I'm Lucija. When English speakers talks about time and place,
they use these three little words a lot:In, On and At.
常会用到三个小词:In, On 和 At。
In, On and At are prepositions.
In, On和At都是介词。
An easy way to know how they work is to look at how they describe time or place.
And whether their descriptions are general or specific.
A general description of time refers to periods, months, years and centuries.
here, you use the preposition In.
Like, in the morning, in April, in 2017, in the 21st century.
比如,in the morning(在早上),in April(在四月),in 2017(在2017年),in the 21st century(在21世纪)。
For more exact time description, like the days of the week, holidays and dates, use On.
At is used to be even more specific: at 1p.m., at noon, at 7 o'clock.
At用于更具体的描述,比如at 1p.m.(在下午一点), at noon(在中午), at 7 o'clock(在7点)。
This model also applies to places.
Use In for general locations, like neighborhoods, cities, and countries.
I live in Washington.
Let's meet in Chinatown.
Use On for more specific locations, such as streets, avenues, large vehicles and islands.
I work on M street.
I'm on the train.
And use At when you are talking about a very specific place,
such as an address or specific location.
She's at home.
Let's meet at 330 K street.
