Me. In third grade, I did a report on them, and it was beautiful.

And also Peter Kappeler and Iris Droscher did a study on them, I guess.

According to the study, published in 'Springer's Journal of Behavioral Ecology and Sociobiology,'

white-footed sportive lemur families, consisting of two parents and their offspring,

use a single tree as a latrine to communicate with each other.

The thing about white-footed sportive lemurs is that they are nocturnal, non-sociable animals.

While they share a territory, pair partners do not sleep in the same tree and they don't interact while foraging.

They really don't see much of each other at all.

Sounds like your typical American family.

So as a way to keep familiarity and promote social bonding,

all members of the family will urinate and defecate on the same tree.

The urine will stay in the trunk of the tree, and that is how they keep in touch

During the 1,000-plus hours that Droscher and Kappeler observed the lemurs,
