and today I'm here to share with you one of my favourite veggie side dishes

This is my Green Bean Salad with slivered almonds and a tangy mustard vinaigrette
这是青豆沙拉,里面放了杏仁儿片和味道有点冲的芥末
and what I love about this is you've still go the snap to the green beans, the nuttiness from the almonds
我喜欢这道菜的地方在于它保留了青豆的清脆,杏仁的酥脆
and then you've got this really creamy tangy almost spicy vinaigrette
还有丝滑的芥末那种差不多有点辣的浓郁
It just makes this whole thing so incredible,
加了芥末之后这道菜简直不能更好吃
and the best part is it's pretty easy to make
最难得的是做起来很简单。
let me show you how to do it
今天我就来给大家展示一下怎么做
First thing we've got to do is to prep the green beans
首先,我们需要准备一些青豆
now there are two ways you can do this.
处理青豆的方法有两种。
You see that little stem on the end? We don't want that.
看见青豆尾巴上的蒂了吗?这个我们是不要的
So you can either just snap it off like that,
你可以像这样掐掉
or what I' going to do today is just line them all up like this and chop off the tips and the bottoms.

And we‘re also just going to cut them in half

Now were going to steam our green beans,

so our water has come to be boiled

and I'm actually going to using this little steamer basket thing we have

and were just going to pop these in with the lid on for about 4 minutes

and we don't want them to be mushy
不要蒸得太烂
you want them to be really bright green
要蒸成亮亮的绿色
and they'll be partially cooked which is perfect
差不多5成熟就完美了
While the beans are boiling, we‘re going to prep the rest of our ingredients,
蒸青豆的时候我们可以准备剩下的食材,
starting with two tablespoons of chopped parsley
先切两勺的西芹
Next up were going to cut our shallot
接下来切洋葱
Now were going to make our vinaigrette,
现在弄芥末
this is very simple, all we need is some olive oil, red wine vinegar and Dijon mustard
这一步很简单,我们只需要一些橄榄油、红酒醋和第戎芥末
So good, and the Dijon makes it so creamy, does need a little bit of salt and pepper though

So we're going to season to taste

Seriously guys, you only need a little bit of dressing, this goes a long way. It's so flavourful

Now I'm just going to toast up some almonds for a nutty crunch

so I'm just going to turn my pan on

and pop these in here

In my family we always burn the nuts when were toasting them
我们家炒杏仁儿的时候一般都炒得焦一点儿
so I'm not leaving this pans side until they are golden brown and can really smell the nutty flavour
所以,我要等它们都变成金棕色,能够闻到香味之后再把锅端下来
It's been about 4 minutes so I'm going to try one of our green beans
差不多4分钟了,我来尝一下青豆
Look how bright green these are, it's absolutely gorgeous.
看看,是不是很绿,漂亮极了。
Perfect. We've got a nice crunch to them
完美。吃起来脆脆的
So what I'm going to do is throw the green beans into the dressing
接下来我要做的就是把青豆倒进调料里面
then I'm going to add in my parsley, my almonds and my shallot
再放上西芹,杏仁片儿,洋葱
Now were just going to mix it all together
接下来搅拌均匀就可以了
Oh it smells so good
太香了
You can really eat this salad whatever you want, hot, cold, room temp, it's delicious no matter what
这个沙拉你怎么吃都可以,热,凉的,常温的,怎么样都好吃
and also I always like to make a little more than this so that I have leftovers
我通常都做的比今天的还要多,这样就可以剩一点儿
because i think its really good the next day
因为我觉得放到第二天吃也特别好吃
This looks amazing, look at this
