Here are four animal shapeshifters.

Number one, the bird-dung spider and the larvae of the giant swallowtail butterfly look like (BLEEP).

No. Literally, they look like bird droppings.

It's a defense mechanism.

In fact, the spider and the butterfly larvae look so convincing with their brown and white coloring that they sit in plain view on a leaf.

And predators don't mess with them because, again, they disguise themselves as poop.

Number two, the orchid mantis.

This flower mantis mimics the colors and shapes of orchids found in its Asian rainforest habitat.

It hides from predators and attracts prey with its striking beauty.

Once a victim flies close enough, the mantis strikes and quickly devours it.

Orchid mantises has even been known to attract more bugs than the real flowers.

Number three, mystery animal from Australia.

In 2014, this new animal was discovered in the ocean around Australia.

And it looks like a mushroom, a floppy chanterelle mushroom.

Scientists don't know much about them, yet.

And they can live to be 168 years old.
