Today I say to you that the challenges we face are real.

They are serious and they are many.

They will not be met easily or in a short span of time.

But know this, America, they will be met.

On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear,

unity of purpose over conflict and discord.
统一了的是目的而不是冲突和矛盾。
On this day, we come to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises,
今天，我们宣布要为无谓的摩擦、虚假的承诺
the recriminations and worn-out dogmas,
相互指责和过时的教条画上句号
that for far too long have strangled our politics.
说的太久会扼杀我们的政策。
We remain a young nation, but in the words of Scripture,
我们仍然是一个年轻的国家，但在圣经的话，
the time has come to set aside childish things.
是到了搁置幼稚事情的时候。
The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit,
现在时机已到，重申我们持久的精神，
to choose our better history, to carry forward that precious gift,
选择出我们更好的历史，弘扬这一珍贵的礼物，
that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation.
这一崇高理念，通过一代又一代传下去。
The God-given promise that all are equal, all are free,
上帝赋予的承诺人人平等，都是自由的，
and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.
都应该有机会实现其完美的幸福。
